Seems pretty cool. It would be neat if there was a hard-copy version of this each month.

Anyone know if Victoria's "Two Stroke" is related to Dave Hunter's "Two Stroke"?

Hi tone geeks. It's me, the Bandito. I am the host of the on-line tube amp magazine. I appreciate Stephen putting up a post and I hope the forum readers visit the website on a regular basis. I put up a new issue of the magazine each month, just like a drug store magazine. My email is listed several times on my web page so if readers have a cool vintage amp or a new boutique amp that they want to see featured in the magazine, please send me the idea.

Now, regarding the viewer who asks that I make a hard copy of the magazine. In order to finance such a venture, I would have to sell the '49 custom chopped Mercury hot rod that ZZ Top gave me to raise that kind of cash. And, there's always the ability to paste a copy of the issue to your hard drive on your computer. And, just to offer full disclosure, I'm constantly updating the magazine with new jokes, tidbits and on the Home Page, I post good looking vintage and boutique amps that are for sale. So, for now, it will have to remain an on-line offering. Cheers brothers in tone!

If it's Vintage Amps you want , bgroup misuic has a very nice selection in the studio. I'm sure he'd love to provide some cool info on them!

You do have some of the nicest gear but the Triwatt is not a clone. Unless you mean a Tone Clone!

Brent, how do you like the Prosonic?
I have one coming across my bench soon for repair and judging by the schematic, it looks like a very interesting amp 8) (2) 10" Celestions, 3-way recifier! Can't wait to hear this thing :D

Joe, I LOOOOOVE the Prosonic!! Zinky-designed, it's a VERY different amp from anything I've ever encountered. The amount of gain is INSANE and very un-Fender. Very distinct tones with all 3 rectifier settings, and the 10's are fantastic. It does sound pretty crazy all gained up through a 4x12 too!! The initial run of these were "custom shop" amps (mine has the "custom shop" sticker on the inside so I guess I got lucky) and then they went into production. I think it's a love it or hate it thing because it's SOOOO unique. While the clean tone in it can be breathtaking (esp. in class A), don't expect "Fender" from anywhere else in the amp - it's closest (er, distant) relative would be the dual rectifier. The active tone controls take a bit of getting used to as well...

There are some recommended mods for it as well if you google... maybe you already know about them...

Anyway, let me know what you think once you've had a chance to test drive it! :)

jac, I don't suck - I'm just lazy for copying and pasting!! LOL! Pods are cool for what they are - mine gets used in preproduction the most, and as the plug-in dongle! They got nothing on tubes though... ;)

Come on up anytime! As those that have been to my studio know, I'm happy to geek out on amps any day of the week!! And yes, you're welcome to play my Vox as long as you'd like!!! :)

Thanks so much for the Prosonic info Brent.
This guy has 2 of them... One he says sounds awesome, the other doesn't sound "right" to him (he's a drummer who plays guitar and not very technical at all  ) Maybe if I like it I'll make him an offer on it 8)
Thanks for the info as always :o
