Hi guys,

my Tweed build is coming along nicely, and I´m having a lot of fun with it. Actually it´s going much faster than expected / wanted.... This means that the amp will be finished before I have a speaker for it. (I´m holding out for a TT alnico, but that may be some weeks....)

What I do have is a BBQ Mini Mass 25Watt. I know that that can function as a dummy load for DI recording and stuff.

Here´s my question:

Can I hook up the Mini Mass to my Tweed Deluxe without a speaker cab, and use it as a dummy load to test voltages ? Or is there still a risk of damaging the OT ? (The minimass has a 4, 8, and 16 ohm selector)

Thanks again.

You can usually use an attenuator as a dummy load without a speaker, provided you turn it's output level all the way down to zero.
