I have a Trinity cab Stephen made me, loaded with two 12" Alnico Tone Tubbies.

I have one of my own cabs loaded with a TT 12" alnico and one 12" TT ceramic. But it is such a different design cab I dont think its a fair comparison.

I really like the Trinity cab, so I made one exactly like the Trinity cab (just needs to be covered) that I will load with my A/C speakers.

Then I can play them both and A/B them to see what sounds best to me with all my heads.

I think its going to be hard to beat the 2x alnico....

Brent,
Just a question... how do the Celestion golds compare to the TT alnicos?

I can't directly compare the Golds as I haven't heard them in real life yet, but they are descended from the Blues and I have had a chance to A-B those... both speakers are bright, but I would characterize the Blues as being more "prickly" in the top end and perhaps subjectively a bit "creamier" in the mids... the TTAs sound more "forward" and "thicker" to me... TTA's struck me as being more "hi-fi", while the Blues are more like bright guitar speakers to me - IOW, I feel like the TTA accurately represents what's going into them, while the Blues colour things somewhat like all Celestions seem to...

Of course my impressions could be TOTALLY different comparing a Gold to a TTA!! :?

They're both AMAZING speakers, I guess it just comes down to what you're after. I currently have my Trinity 212 loaded with two TTAs, but I also have Blues AND Golds on my "to buy" list... :)
