 Post subject: Gold String

Can anyone point me in the direction of a tutorial on tolexing a Marshall head, especially the gold string part of the process.

I havent seen one but a 1/8" groove by about 3/32" deep works for the string we use. The tolex overlaps the groove. Cut the tolex down the middle of the groove and press the string in. Staple underneath the cabinet to hold it in place.

Thanks for that. I guess a router is used for that and do you route out the groove right underneath to keep the end part of the string embedded? Routers have been known to cut loose on me.

We use a table saw actually with a 1/8" blade.
