I would like to use metal oxide resistors throughout the VRM unless there is a reason not to. Does it matter in this application?

I have looked for a while but have not found a place to buy 5ohm 5 watt resistors for the VRM.
Where can these be found in the USA?

5 OHM 2W Metal Oxide, 5W is overkill. or 2 10 ohm , 1W in parallel. http://www.tubesandmore.com/, Allied, Mouser, DigiKey

The VRM is new to me.......My usual suppliers have 5.1 ohm, 2 &3 watt metal oxide resistors. So 2% or so off the 5R value. Will that be fine for this application or is it best to use 5 measured ohms exactly along with the other 100k resistors?

Does the 1M pot have to be other than the normal Alpha or equivalent?

Also, can this VRM be applied to other cathode biased amps without modifying VRM values / components / wiring?

Thanks

5.1 ohms is perfectly fine. It sets the max dissipation of the circuit.

1M Linear or Audio - 1/4W minimum

Yes, up to about 50 watts. Cathode biased only though.

Thanks[/quote]
