I am short one (yes, 1 piece) .05 micro farad 400 to 600 volt rated ceramic disk capacitor.

Anyone have one to sell me? Electronics stores are not in existance up here...

What application Andrew? You could probably get away with any non-polarized .047uf cap with the right voltage rating - Orange drop, Mallory 150, Sozo (might be a waste of a nice cap) etc.

Its the last piece of the "1974x" build I havent been able to find.

The .05 uF cap is in the middle of the board, not really sure what its function is (it goes from the ground buss to V3 pin 1 and another cap). its supposed to be 400V rated.

Steal it from your guitar

If you have any ceramics from your guitar building, use them.
.02, .02, .01 in parallel gives you .05
I think I have some .05, I'll check.

Oh crap...

I totally forgot that single coils use a .047 or .05 uF.... but how do I know if they are rated for high enough voltage? If there is just a code that is...

Will have to check my guitar parts stuff - currently still in my old shop 1 1/2 hours away. But thanks for the tip!

Ah - part of the tremolo circuit. That can be any non-polar cap with that voltage rating then. The layouts I've seen have Mallory 150's or equivalents. That's what the Marshall re-issue uses also.

(snicker) Most of the caps (like Mallorys or Sozos & equivalent generics) have the voltage rating printed on them. Orange Drop 715s (the common ones) are generally rated 600v, as are the 716s if memory serves.

If it's just a code, I think the Trinity manuals have a page on capacitor codes. You probably have a few of those kicking around! :D

You could always order a cap the next time you order tubes if you use thetubestore.com

Checked mine and they are all 400v or higher.
