It is time to start thinking about covering the tc15 cab with tolex. I appoligize if I'm posting in the wrong place but it doesn't seem that I can post in the resource section.

I've watched the video and read the "fin" technique for the corners but what about a vent hole in the top of the cab? It is a rectangular hole with the inside edges and corners are rounded with a router so there are no hard corners (as similar to many in the gallery).

What is the best method to cover the vent with the tolex and look professional?

The best way is to cut a triangular gusset and glue it into each of the 4 corners. Then cut the tolex corners at 45 degrees so they will fold over and cover the gusset, and glue that in place.
I cut the tops of the gusset off slightly so I can place it close to the top of the cabinet / tolex.
Attach the grill after tolexing using a staple gun.

Seems logical - The heads and combo's in the gallery don't appear to have any seams. I was thinking I'd have to somehow stretch the tolex to fit the hole. Glad I asked...

This is my first post here.

If the vent holes in your cabinet are like the ones in the Gallery photos it's really pretty easy to do with a curve that large.

I like to use a piece of rough sand paper and rough up the fagric side (back) to break down the backing fabric letting it stretch around the inside of the curve. It will indeed pucker into pleates on the back side but those can be trimmed. This is one area where I use DAP contact instead of hide or water based adhesive because it helps the Tolex to stretch tight around the curved service.

Here are a few pics of similar curved areas.

EDIT: The first 9 photos show a single panel with both an inside and an outside curve, both are done as described above. You will only need to do the inside which is a bit easier than a good outside curve. You should get some scrap wood and practice corners and stuff like this before you commit to your actual work piece. Many of the photos are of my own practice pieces.
