zener. Hard to tell negative end.??does it go between mosfet resisters? Hard to see in pic's.

Check the layout. There is a band at the cathode of the zener, it points 'towards' the MOSFET.

Or to explain a little further, the cathode (stripe end) is the one shown on the schematic as a crooked bar. HTH

Thanks guys,hearings gone from the marshalls,eyesight by age.And that drummer,never could modulate it down. Just making sure everything is correct. I have done old (1940,1960 bogen)mod to guitar,never a board,all terminal... The build is going well,and I will turn these virginia guys onto this.

Glad I found this thread.

That diode is so small, I had trouble figuring which way it goes.

My multimeter gave me part of the answer, but I'm reassured to read here confirmation that I had installed it the right way.
