Here's what I measured:
Mains : 120.1 VAC
VRM Pins
Pot - 1&2 - B+

Idle - 8.1 - 49.0
4 - 31.3 - 68.2
5 - 43.8 - 84.7
6 - 56.7 - 97.9
7 - 91.1 - 133.1
8 - 216.9 - 261.7
9 - 338.0 - 380.0
10 - 359.4 - 404.6

Due to clumsiness I managed to get a few arcs with my test probe (between the pin and chassis, and between the pin and pot body). Now the VRM does not appear to be functioning (ie. at idle I get full volume, and there is no change in volume when I adjust the VRM pot). What have I likely fried - the MOSFET? How to diagnose?

Does the voltage on the VRM control pot's wiper change as you turn it? If so, then yes, your MOSFET probably got fried. If the voltage doesn't change, on the pot wiper, then it's more likely the pot itself, or a bad connection....

I would like to thank dodgechargerfan for his pics of his amp build during Amp Camp.

They have been very useful to me during the first stage of my Tramp build.

These very clear pics helped to confirm to me the exact positioning of components like the PT and OT, terminal strips and pots.

I will be using your other pictures of your eyelet board shortly.

This is my first build so I need all the visual information I can find.

Any progress on this?

Eyelet Board populated and started soldering leads to it.

But maybe you were directing your question to the OP, dodgechargerfan...

Not yet.

I pulled the board to check for any issues underneath. It all looked good.

I have half the leads to solder back in, yet...

I have to put it on the back burner for the rest of this month, though.
First weekend in May - I'll get back to it.

I've got the board back in and things are working again.

I do see low voltages on the 12AX7 side of things.
I'll go through the grounds again.

I still have to crank things, but when I do, it sounds fantastic.
Maybe I'm just not understanding where things start to kick in in terms of settings.

My cabinet is done. I'm just waiting for delivery. Stephen and I are working that out and one way or another I'll have it in the next couple of weeks. :happydance:

I've been meaning to post these picture for a while now.
I've just been having too much fun with the amp.

That's a BBQ Neo Speaker in there.

I've got the original JJ tubes in there right now, but I've got some new EHX from tubestore and some NOS tubes that I had in a box that I have tried and will play around with in the future.

Yeah, I think the Neo is a good fit for this amp.

I bought it used and the guy I got it from was very knowledgeable about gear and I showed him the Tramp page and he thought it would be a good fit too.

I trust his opinion as I've had other dealings where he wasn't trying to sell me something.

He was also very careful to ask about whether the speaker would be compatible with my amp before agreeing to the deal. So, another level of credibility there...

Something else I've noticed is that I seem to get more range from the gain and master volume when in 'tude mode.

What I mean is that I can dial things down a lot more than I can when in tweed mode.

There is negative feedback going on in Tweed mode, just like in a regular Fender Tweed Champ. The NFB reduces both the distortion level and dynamic range of the amp.

PS: Don't post any more spam ads on this board, or you will be banned.

This past weekend, I picked up the emblem that I've been looking for:

I painted the black in again and then cleaned up the chrome a bit.
I ended up cutting the posts off of the emblem and gluing it on.

Hey Dodge, that looks really good. Love the Scamp name tag!

I remember the Dodge Scamp. Logo looks good.
Nice bar behind the scene too.
