So I'm anxiously waiting to receive my kit from coco, until that fateful day I've been reading the forum. So a couple randoms to throw at the community.

It seems like the normal channel will get you some overdrive with the bright channel will get you clean tones, would it make sense to make an A B pedal to switch between the two for leads and rhythm?

Other than that I am accumulating all my stuff, just bought a hakko soldering station, got the cab and speaker (going with a 54' deluxe style cab and a bbq 12a125a)...not a tt, but I got it at a decent price.

Does the kit come w the male 1/4 input jack for the speaker?

A/B box sounds like a good idea!

No 1/4" plug for the speaker in the kit. Use good quality stranded wire for the speaker wire.

So I haven't been able to start on my kit due to life reasons, however since this is my first time doing something like this I have a few newb questions.

When installing the jumpers on the bottom of the board am i supposed to just crimp the wire into the eyelet? Or do I solder it in place before populating the board?

Has anyone ever used EH power tubes in these? I ended up buying some on a whim to get free shipping on an order (had to be above 100) from tube depot because I had read some reviews on them, plus they were 20% off so I though what the hell. I'll be interested to hear any differences to the JJ's that came with the kit. I have hooked up my BBQ 12a125a speaker to my Valve Jr in the mean time and can definetly hear a difference between my ceramic BBQ blue dog, so that was fun.

also, stephen do you know have the dimensions for the chasis cut on the cab? It appears that since my cab was an exact copy of the original '54 the trinity chassis is slightly larger so I'm going to have to do some surgery on it to make everything fit nicely.

Never have used EH tubes but haven't heard any terrible reports about them.

It's actually better practice, to run the jumpers *above* the board and solder them into the eyelets along with the components. Otherwise, when you do any work on the board later (debugging, servicing or modding) you can have the jumper wires fall out underneath.

Generally EH tubes have a reputation for OK, although somewhat mediocre tone.

Chassis is 5" d, 14" w, 2.5" h . Tweed chassis we too shallow IMO anyway.

I still put them undernetah for aesthetics. You can poke the wire up through the hole from the bottom and bend it over the top side of the board, solder and then snip off and excess. That way it's mechanically connected to the board and out of sight.
