What wattage is the zener in the VVR circuit?

1W if I remember correctly but it might be 1/2W. Email Trinity and us to be sure though.


As a side note it never hurts to have a part over speced but not the other way.

i.e. if a design calls for 1W you can easily use a 2W part but can't use a 1/2W part.

I am using a 1/2 watt 6V zener with no issues yet.In my VRM but I do have the HT fused.
But you can use 2 x 3V 1/2 watt zeners to make a 6V 1 watt if you have them on hand.
But unlike resistors you can't parallel two zeners to double the power handling.
You have to run them in series to add up the voltage and wattage ratings.
