I just spotted this with Stephen and Chris apparently doing a workshop and the Tramp playing a starring role - how'd it all go, and how did the Tramp go on the day? 8)

Saturday June 7th - 1PM - "Putting Tube Tone Theory into Practice."

Hey sorry didn't see this :snooze:

It was a fun event, good turn out, nice weather, lots of good live music; everything you could want. After a simplified overview of tubes and tube amp operation the Tramp was showcased. Using the attendees new tube knowledge the Fat, Tweed/Tude, VRM, speakers, tubes were all explained.

I think most people enjoyed hearing in real time how the tone changed as you pull switches and components change.

We added a 2.2nF cap to the Treble pot (which we made push/pull) so the Tramp had a Bright switch too. Lots of bells and whistles

Coco had his 6L6 Tone Tubby (not sure exact model) Tramp and I had my 6V6 Blackbird Tramp. Two unique speaker/tube combinations.

Attendees also got to play the entire Trinity lineup, including the new ODS! There was easily 10 amps on stage with us.

There is some pics from the event somewhere, coco would know. Let's hope he chimes in!

Thanks mate, sounds like a ton of fun would have been had by all.

Great idea on the addition of a "Bright" switch, with FAT, 'TUDE, and BRIGHT engaged and extending the highs and lows a bit I'm thinking the result might scoop the tone a little and start eq'ing a little into "Blackface-ish" type tones?

Yes, we posted on Facebook (trinityamps) but not here. Chris and I presented to about 13 people while Shawn Dore demonstrated the effects of changes with respect to modding amps to get a different tone.
Feedback on the workshop was positive and we met some more cool people.

Wow, I didn't even know about the Facebook page and never thought to look there. Great reading and pics to go through there. Oh Great! the only problem is it's got me wanting to order one of those Sidewinder cabs for my Tramp and also grab a Triwatt amp kit to build and a head cab for it as well while I have the plastic unleashed, dangerous times indeed. :bugeye:

Lots of new tones available with the "Bright" switch. Can definitely get some BF'esque tones.

I took about 5min to install the Bright switch, might be a worth while mod to an existing Tramp. Like I mentioned it's just a 2.2nF cap across lugs 3 and 2 of the Treble pot. Use a push-pull pot to engage the connection.
