Would this speaker work well with the Tweed?

I am thinking of the Tweed as my first build and this speaker is available locally on Craigslist for $100 CDN.

The Tweed Deluxe is a good choice for your first build. It's not overly hard to build and it certainly has that classic 5E3 Tweed sound.

I haven't heard a G12C/S but on their website WGS says:
If you want a classic American vibe, but need a smoother more soulful top end, look no further than the WGS G12C/S. This is based on our popular G12C, but with a smooth cone, felt dust cap and just the right amount of edge treatment. This speaker works great in amps where you are going for that big American clean but just need it a little softer up top.

They also say their G12C is a replacement for Jensen's C12N. Jensen C12 speakers were used in the originals and they do work well with these amps. My Tweed Deluxe has a Jensen C12Q and it sounds great.

But WGS says their G12C/S has a smoother, softer top end. The stock Tweed Deluxe is a bit bassy so you might not want a softer top end.

Can you listen to it first before you buy?

Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it.

From what I had read online it did looks like it would work with the Tweed, just wanted to get another opinion.

I am going to contact the seller this weekend and see if I can arrange a listening date.

If your Tweed amp outputs 15 watts, the speaker should handle at least that much power, preferably more to avoid distortion or damage.

The Tweed typically pairs well with speakers that have a warm, vintage tone to complement its natural midrange punch and slight breakup at higher volumes.

When used in conjunction with speakers that have a warm, vintage tone, the Tweed is a good choice since it complements the natural midrange punch and minor breakup that it exhibits at higher levels.
