Need some help. Finished assembling a new 18 W TMB kit. This is my first kit. It passed the power section voltage checks earlier in the build. However, when I plugged in the rectifier tube and did the next set of voltage checks, I was getting 414 V DC at all of the tube plate pins. I turned it off and removed the rectifier to redo the power section checks to see if something had changed, shorted, etc. I got 6.6 VAC across pins 4 and 5 on rectifier. When I went to check the voltages across pins 1 and 7, the fuse blew. It seemed like my checking it is what made it blow. As soon as I touched the probes to the pins, I heard the cooling fan on my desk, connected to the same outlet, lug down a little and then the fuse blew. I am not sure if the high voltages and the blown fuse are related, or separate problems. Where should I start troubleshooting? Thanks, Trey

Already found one significant mistake. On V4 I had connected the orange wire to pin 1 instead of pin 9. I will fix that. And buy another fuse.... Any other ideas? (other than to keep checking and rechecking my work?) -Trey

Make a photocopy of the layout and highlight the connections and parts while you are checking them.
