Now that I have my amp sounding great, I want to put some new speakers together. I am looking at an Alnico Silver Bell, and want to pair it with another speaker. Would a greenback blend well with the bell (or a hellatone). Any other suggestions or combinations with the silver bell.

I am mostly a blues, rootsy, rock player. I also want to avoid the Blue speaker for now.

Also, what ohm speakers should I get for the 212.

For a 212, go with two 16 ohms speakers. I can recommend " The Bomb" which is a 12" Alnico Tone Tubby + 12" Ceramic Tone Tubby, bith with Hemp cones. Expensive maybe, but one of the best sounding arrangements available.

I'm sure there is other combinations out there that people the would recommend, but if I was going to buy only 1 212, that would probably be it, or I'd spring for the full Alnico version.

Celestion Vintage 30s are a good speaker.

BBQ does make some decent spekaers as well. Just look into 'cone cry'.

Speaking of Tubbies, my fav combo is an AlNiCo H1 cone paired with a ceramic H1E cone. Heaven on earth.

Yes, we did try that one. Called the "Bomb" Very nice.

Tone Tubby is really coming itno their own. The speakers are amazing and the company is cool and great to work with.

I'm finding tonal nirvana these days with an Eminence Tonker (can be had for $49 at avatar)...

Big Round huge tone from this little speaker. It's the perfect complement to an alnico speaker...since it accentuates the things that the alnico's dont....
