I have completed the first steps of testing and the VAC results check out within expected ranges.

When I install all the tubes and do the tests of the pin voltages DC (as per step 7 in the Build Guide), the following are the values I get:

Actual Spec (as per chart)
V1 - 1 110 120
V1 - 3 0.81 1.8
V1 - 6 113 120
V1 - 8 0.80 1.3

V2 - 1 91 120
V2 - 3 0.93 1.4
V2 - 6 124 204
V2 - 7 18 18
V2 - 8 39 50

V3 - 3 250 380
V3 - 4 213 348
V3 - 8 11 22

V4 - 3 250 380
V4 - 4 213 348
V4 - 8 11.4 22

All my values are consistently lower than the expected values, with the exception of pin 7 on V2. I should also mention that I use a voltage limiter which glows at about 1/3 brightness during the test. I am a novice with this sort of thing, but it suggests to me a voltage leak somewhere, perhaps to ground.

Any ideas where I should look?

Barry

Make sure all your power and ground connections are good on the circuit board. What does the B+ measure at the rectifier?

I had help from a previous builder. He was able to identify a wire in the wrong location on the input jack circuit. The amp works great! It is loud and bluesy!

Check for any loose connections or faulty components in the rice purity test circuit. It's also recommended to check the wiring and ensure that there are no shorts or grounds. Additionally, it's important to verify that the voltage limiter is functioning properly and not causing any issues. A multimeter can be used to measure the resistance of the components and identify any potential problems. Finally, it may be helpful to seek assistance from someone with more experience in this area if the issue persists.
