Hey everyone, for someone who failed grade 12 english I find myself in the ironic position of being the Editor at Large for the newly established Trinity Amps Mag. I have some thoughts I would like to put out there and feel there might be somthing in there for you to.

So, as resident Guitologist, and in the true spirit of not knowing what to write about, I am opening the floor to your suggestions. Any topic related to Trinity amps, Tone, Guitars, Music, Electronics, or Jamaican cooking is fair game. I'll let you know if I don't know or have anything to say (sure!). For now though, I have jotted down a few of my initial ideas. Please let me know what you would like to read.

My inclination is start with article 1. How to dial in your Trinity sIII.

Sounds like a great starting list.

Add a section with pictures of the cabs, heads and combos showing details of construction and finishes.

List of modifications that builders have made with reviews.

I hope items 1 and 6 will include sugested amp settings and guitar settings (the tone and volume controls are there for a reason).

Pictures of the pros who are using Trinity products and comments from them would be interesting.

It's a good and ambitious list. I can do a section on the cabs and we can both try to get the pros to comment.

Topics 1 and 6 sound like a great start. There is also the possibility of updates on those topics, so many tones, so many types of guitars, almost endless possibilities.

That is one of my problems, I haven't been playing that long and the permutations possible with just a Les Paul and an SIIIv6 seem staggering.

Stephen, when you get them done, make sure you get pictures of the hardwood cabs for the magazine.

When I get them filled, I'll send you pictures of my rig, both LP's and the completed amp.

This is a wonderful idea I like all of the initial topics.
You can also include a section for new idea's for well.... anything. Inventions to further the quest for the holy grail. I just changed the terminal strip to a turret terminal strip, it wasn't a magor idea, but it makes the Trinity thast much more different from the rest. Why, because the Trinity amp's deserve only the best. .
I truly believe the Trinity amp is the best 18watt on the market and believe eventually the Trinity will be a household name in the music industry. Thank you Stephen.

Hmm.. On Number 8, you can also include a lesson, to help us (not as developed as you ) players that are still trying to develop our skills.

Wait, this is getting fun, for the speakers, how about , not just the tone tubby's but reviews of all speakers. Which are decent, which aren't.

I have another suggestion for an article, or a series of articles.

Effects pedals, I'm a newby and not to sure what type of stompbox does what or what they really sound like.

Even more importantly, what boxes work well with the various Trinity amps? I think that this would go over really well.

The mag died as fast as it was born?

I hope not, I had another idea for the magazine.

I was thinking about a combination print / audio dictionary of tube amp terms so noowbs (i.e. me) can get an idea what experienced tube amp gurus mean when they use certain terms.

I was thinking maybe a definition or two an issue that gets made a sticky.

So far I've come up with the following:

bright
chime
clean (i.e. "Fender clean")
crunch

delay
distortion (power tube)
distortion (preamp tube)
fizz
flubby
harmonics
headroom

reverb (amp)

Sorry, just couldn't resist.

As per JCNY's suggestion, I have written down a few thoughts regarding some commonly used terms. I haven't cross reference my definitions so lets talk. This will at least get us singing from the same dance card as we continue to share thougts and techniques to get the tone and feel you want.

Attack – How the note begins. Sharp attack like a tele. A smoother attack like a 335 neck pickup.

Bloom – Changes to the way a note sounds after it is picked.

Boomy – An overriding bass quality that, when combined with overdrive, can obscure the treble frequencies making them hard to hear.

Bright – A sound that is possesses lots of treble and or upper mid frequencies is called bright. Fender amps do this very well.

Chime – Chime is the kind of extended treble response in an amps clean tone. When you play a single coil guitar like a strat or a tele through an amp like that you get a bright sound that is not piercing and has some smooth ness to it. There is also a shimmering quality to the tone. The chord at the beginning of “Hard Day’s Nightâ€

Really excellent compilation of Terms. Nice job! I think I may have heard some of those in your studio!
