Bummer, what happened? I know sewatt's opening, but that was unexpected.
Later,
Jac

I've been on there for since 02 or 03....made contributions...but....at this point I could care less.

I got help from there and I'm grateful...and I gave help.

in the end....they moderated it to death...

18watt R.I.P.

I emailed Graydon to try to get the skinny. We'll see if he replies. I also kinda wonder if it isn't just a stunt to get everyone back in line...

Two things happened over there. The BBQ fiasco (of course) and the sudden influx of a lot of newbies who didn't want to talk about amps so much as other stuff and weren't as well-mannered as the regular crowd.

Personally, I would like to b!tch slap BBQ Boy for his role in it.

Ya know, It just occurred to me, like S2 said maybe it is a stunt.

Get all the newbies (EVJ heads off of 18watt and onto the new sewatt. Then open 18watt back up. That way everyone will have switched.

Whatever you do, PLEASE don't send them over to AX84!

It's a very sad day. And just as I was starting to buld my Grand Prize amp! I was looking forward to providing a layout and drilling guide for the Vajra.

I don't think BBQ was totally at fault. JA had a lot to do with it and the moderators should have put a stop to JA's rants. I've actually corresponded with Ted, and his only concern was that JA wasn't being stopped from making potentially false claims. I know some of TW's gear has had some issues at times - I've returned speakers and stuff, but he has always treated me fairly on returns. He provides a good service to the building community. He never requested that he not be mentioned on the forum - that was the moderators choice.

The more I think about it, the moderators probably just had grown tired of it. Most of them haven't really been contributing for a while now. It's a shame they didn't want to let others take it over to keep it alive. The forums contain a lot of great information that will be missed. And the other content will probably disappear after 2007 (when their host fee runs out?), so it's just a shame.

A great loss to everyone.

So besides here and AX84, where is everyone going?

Richard, I know you like to limit the BBQ bashing (maybe just because you're a class act), but those of us have dealt with him on a wholesale level see a completely different side of things. He has crapped on a lot of us while stealing our work. I'm not going to name names, but there is much grumbling among us small biz guys, and I think he deserves much more than the gets (like to be sued out of existence).

s2, I was afraid you'd jump in!

It just shows how people can have different experiences with someone. Not to say I think that everything he sells is perfect, etc. I've just had an overall positive experience and I do avoid some stuff anyway. I do think many of his non-Fender kits are both a little derivative and have some strange design choices (probably due to his normally stocked parts). But I don't use the kits, just a few of the chassis and parts I find convenient.

BTW. I just finished the layout for the Vajra. So I'm finally getting started...

I'm pretty sure you have to host them. I've been hosting on photosite pretty successfully.
I haven,t hosted clips yet cause I don't know where or how (my son's trying to teach me). Maybe Coco does host them :?:

BBQ - I like BBQ

LS1 - engine code for my Z28.

I'm a regular on LS2.com and LS1tech. Also, I don't have nearly as many amp parts as Ted.

I'm sure it will be a great amp.

I won the Grand Prize in the Mark Durham giveaway, which is why I called it that. I've wanted to hear a Vajra, so now I will.

I just still think it is sad all that history has come to a stop.
