I also got this clip last night. It's slow and boring, but you can hear my amp clipping after the first turn around. Are there any ideas what the clipping might be from? It's particularly bad when the volume's a bit higher and I play anything on the D, A, or E strings.

Do you think the clipping could be one of the tubes and not the circuit?

Sometimes a poor solder connection will sound like that after a while. Possibly an unsoldered joint joint is finally showing up.

Otherwise might be a cap in the circuit.

Can you isolate the location e.g. turn one control down and see if it goes away, then try another control?

What amp is this?

Oh cool, thanks for responding, Stephen. It's definitely a low end issue. When I turn the bass down, or play the bass less strongly, it goes away. This is the Lightning.

Funny, but I found that it was the low end notes that were more susceptible to a poor solder connection will sound like that after a while. Possibly an unsoldered joint joint is finally showing up.

Most times, you can apply the heat, then re-touch with solder & reflow. That will do it.

We are in business. I ran it through the paces and no splattering

I also reconnected the cut to a pot rather than having it hardwired in and the sparkle I've been missing is back! I'm extremely happy. No more trying to turn it into a vox---that chime I was missing was missing because of hardwiring the cut cap to the master.

Haha, ok. I called my friend to see if he'd be interested in recording a song, and I'll add in the background so the clip is really more in the context of how I'll use the amp. Otherwise I realize the computer is recording and I clam up because it's hard to start out of no where
