I'm sure everyone's OK. Maybe withdrawl symptoms!

After three days I'm still sad and angry about the abrupt end of the 18W board. That was a good little communtiy, now scattered to the four winds.

Hello everybody, thanks Coco for hosting some old 18watt fellows.
Same here Mr dB, sad, mad, angry, disapointed, frustrated, and thanksfull as well for everything Graydon and the mods gave us along the time. Very strange mixed feeling.

I found us spread around, here, at Brown Note forum, at the Amp Garage forum, at ax84... may be some other place. All feeling at bit homeless :(

Yesterday at ax84, ZP said "there is hope..." . I cannot stop believing he is true! 8)

Good to see you with your Nugent avatar Martin!
Really love your October.
Up to which volume can you keep it clean? More than a 18watter???
Still waiting for some parts to start my MH6V6 Plexi.

His left ear's just there to balance his face up, you know!
It's nice to see familiar names here, as well as at ax84.com.

I'm glad you like the October, I think it's a really special amp, with the Marshall preamp, and 6V6 output, you end up with something which works very well.
There's not much "loud clean" available (less than the 18W!), as the design isn't tweaked that way. I'm sure it would be possible to reduce the gain easily enough, and make a cleaner sounding amp with it. Its still early days for me with it, and I need to get used to how it works first.
The Huss 6V6 plexi is very similar to the Oct, but the Oct has the advantage(?) of a switchable preamp. Let me know how it turns out. :D

Welcome Guys! I wanted to build a MH6V6 Plexi, poured over the design but never did. MArk & I did talk about it [very pleasant and helpful fellow] but I did the sIII v6 instead. [clips posted in Clippage section].

What's the October switchable preamp? That sounds interesting.

You can switch between Plexi and Ali modes, which makes small changes to the preamp config to approximate the differences between plexi Marshalls and later Aluminium plate Marshalls.
It works too. The two voices are what you'd expect them to sound like, and are authentic. I like Ali mode for the more driven sounds, and Plexi respond well to a cleaner sound.

Hey all, I missed out on a certain attenuator schematic because of the close. Would someone be so kind? circle7@cox.net

Zap? He's from Marshall Country not Canada, or so I thought. He's been posting over at AX84.

Thanks for the kind thoughts guys. :) Well, yes, I'm a Canuck, hanging out over in Marshall Country at the moment. Anyway, I'm doing fine. I was actually posting over on AX84 before 18watt.com. I'm also in contact with Graydon (another Cannuck BTW). Yes, there is hope. Graydon very much recognizes the value of 18watt.com and is keen to get it back and running again as soon as possible. Watch this space...... Where would you guys be without us Cannucks?

It's not the same as those, and you may not want to post it, as the attenuator in question was a clone of a proprietry item.

I'll mail it to you anyway.
