coco: I hope people find this site pretty neutral & friendly. I know it's 'sponsored' and I do take liberties from time to time, but I don't push. If people wanted to congregate here, that's not a problem for me.

Actually, I find your site to be very hospitable and I appreciate it. It's one of the things that makes the circle of vendors who deal with the 18 watt stuff so great. I hope to give each of you some business in the future because you are all very generous and neutral.

I think the deal is 18watt.com is seen as a separate entity because you don't go to a vendor site to get there. I think that will have strong social advantages to getting more people on board and therefore a larger exchange of information.

What I think would be cool is if all the amp building sites got together and worked in categories like: 18watts, experimental, se, twreck etc. To me, 18 watt is the closest thing to that because of the "By the Bench" section.

I guess I have always seen the sites attached to a vendor site as a good place to get help with the kit that I bought from brand x. Part of that social conditioning thing I was alluding too.

I live in Wilkes-Barre (well in Kingston across the bridge. And yes I've been to K& S. I like to visit any music store I can. Never know what a store has. Probably about 45 min. away from Williamsport. I 'm a truck driver and when I see a music store, well.... must stop

That's one of the cool things about this area and why I keep coming up with alot of tube related "stuff" very cheap. And I'll not complain at all. :D
I'll have to take a road trip and see the shops. Always up for a good musical deal, ya know.
Later

I hope it will be run as a separate entity than GDS amps, but I don't know the what the plans are. I think to do otherwise will taint the forum. I think for it to be open to all who want to advertise will be good for all.

18watt.com will be vendor-neutral as always. It won't be under the domination of any particular amp building or kit company, whether GDS or anyone else. To help support the site, there will be banner ads from multiple companies, just like before. Probably the same will apply to its new sister site for SE amps, SEwatt.com.

Meanwhile thanks to Coco and the Trinity guys for providing a shelter to us "18watt refugees". :)

Oh Boy you must be strong not to stir it up!

So for now I will simply say welcome!

For you Canadian beer drinkers not located in canada, you must remember that you refer to the beer by it's second name. Canadian, Golden, Export, Blue. Not Labbats or Molsons. Between the two of them they make about 100 beers.

Gabi is effectively on a sabbatical at the moment, and is pretty much out of contact. He may be in Romania. So please contact Graydon instead, on the address given by Florida Jack.

Ibetune,
I sincerely apologize
From now on I will always refer beer by it's second name.
Thank you for pointing that out. We non-canucks don't know any better, eh.
Later

Depends on where you live. In Buffalo we only use the second name and don't bother with the first :D

LaBatt's just moved their US headquarters to Buffalo and no one here even knew for weeks, the city wasn't trying to get them, didn't think it was possible. This is their best market outside of Canada, heck, in Buffalo Canadian beer is considered domestic :?

Try Bras D'Or! Quebecois like their Labatt's '50' [Cinquante]

Lazy Magnolia Southern Pecan and Abita Amber for me with the occasional Shiner Bock and Guinness Draught.
No "Canooks" in the pile. I've enjoyed LaBlatts Blue and Molsons
http://www.abita.com/
http://www.lazymagnolia.com/
http://www.shiner.com/home.html

As long as it's Beer first ,wet second, cold third, and amber to dark forth. Free trumps flavour. :?
