The 15 Master Volume control is effective to about 4-5, then it's adding output tube overdrive and no so much volume. It's good and effective but has anyone modified the circuit to what they think is a better control?

Just looking for some feedback.

Hey coco.

This is based on a conversation coco and I had today. When I was playing with this amp, being a Marshall guy, I mentioned that I'd expect more linear function to the volume. It's an interesting way to do things, does this mean this amp has an 11? A 15? :D

JP.

I put a master volume on my plexi
per this design:
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s83/ ... ltype2.jpg
it was kicked around on the metroamp board.

it's a very good sounding usable master, that increases as you would expect it to.
i've thought about putting it in my dc-30 type clone, but there isn't such thing as a 250k dual ganged push pull pot. if you wanted to be able to take it out of the circuit, you'd probably have to put it on a switch and it'd be a bit more work, but could be done.

What book is that from? I think I have it. Looks like BBQ's Trainwreck pages.
And there is a 250k dual-ganged pot. There are all values, but expensive.. I've just been looking at them for the Tiny Terror.

no, i know there is a dual ganged 250k. i have one in my plexi. i meant a dual ganged push pull....to turn it off and on. unless you mean that...which i would like a link if you have it.

i got that picture off a post in the metroamp forum, but i'm pretty sure it's the same book that you're talking about, but with the addition of a couple of resistors for safety, in case the pot goes.

Nope, sorry, looks like all I have is a 1 meg and a (I think) a 25k. And they are not push-pull they are.... umm turn on? Click on with the volume. Don't know how to explain.. I have more tube gear arriving so if you want, I'll keep an eye out for you :D I just looked quick, so you never know what's here, I still might find one :D
