Last Thursday I took delivery of my Deluxe kit from Trinity. I threw together (literally, in a few hours) a cabinet for it Thursday after work. Yesterday (Saturday) I started putting the kit together just around noon, and by supper time it was ready to fire up!

I forgot to solder one small wire on the tone/volume and after that was fixed, I got to rock out the amp! Amazing tone... just brilliant! Very bluesy and it makes you want to play early rock & roll!

I ran a full build thread on Harmony central, so I wont post all my pics here again, here is the link:

Here are a few photos of my amp. Its my third Trinity (have a sIII and a 15 watter) and I have a TC15 on order.. :)

Andrew's build pics and story are excellent reading for would be Tweed builders. Highly recommended. Very thorough and well illustrated.
Built the Deluxe kit in a day!! Awesome!

This is his 3rd Trinity Amp build and there are another two TC-15s coming up!

The croc-footed dude makes guitars too!!

Well, it sounds "nice"... :)

I have nothing to compare it to yet. I have only played it with the G12H-30 so far.

Last night Iplayed it for a few hours at our band rehersal. I have to say, when I could turn the volume up a bit it really sounds better than when just cracked open. I was playing my Tele mostly with the bridge pickup (one I wound myself to about 7 1/2K ohm) and in the middle with my neck P90. Very good, useable tones for all the classic rock and stuff we play, along with some stuff like Neil Young, The T HIp, etc.

I find it doesnt like to take all my pedals quite like the 15 watter - probably becuase of the fact the 15 stays very clean for much louder. But I was using my TS808 for my OD, and a BYOC 5 knob compressor and a Boss chorus and it was very good with those.

The amp has a ton of compression itself or so it seems.

ANyhow, it is a completely different animal than the 18 and 15 and that makes me happy, because I was looking for something different.

As you know it takes a long time to get used to the capabilities of a new amp and I am excited to try out some different speakers, different guitars, etc with it.

Got to go back to work now!

Andrew

Thanks for putting the build thread together, Andrew. I'm seriously considering a Trinity Deluxe kit for my next build. Your pictures and commentary are very helpful. Nice job!

Andrew, You really should try it with the Tone Tubby 8 ohm Alnico since you have one. Big difference. I really dont think much can touch that speaker.

bradovka sent me an article from The Tone Quest Report that says Neil Young uses Jensen C12N's with a special vintage ribbed cone.

I love the Jensen P12Q in mine.

S'all good, baby!!!

He also runs 6L6's in [and I quote] "a complex rig that hovers on melt down by design." :D

Here's the link to the article.

Cool article. Good read. Think the tone bypass might be worth a try too!

Hi everyone. What a wonderful thread! I just joined the forum last night. Yesterday I picked up my deluxe kit from Stephen. I read through the manual and then got on the forums. This thread is quite helpful. This will be my second build (my previous a GDS 18watt trem circuit). I look forward to getting starting.

Hello and welcome. Andrew does a great job of documenting his builds and he can whip up a deluxe overnight!

Hey! I was just playing that guitar (Ibanez AR300 reissue) through my 15 watter with the new TTubby speaker I got in today.

I miss building amps... Stephen you have to come out with something new for me to build! :)

What about a 30 watter?? Hmmm??
