Hi everyone. I've drawn up a layout for my Tweed twin 5D8 I'm about to build. I basically transcribed it from the old Fender layout so I could get a clearer map for when I build it. I've tweaked the grounding, heaters, and a few parts locations. But the circuit is still the same. Oh yeah, I'm only using 1 5U4G for the rectifier.

I've traced the schematic, and I think I have it right, but if I could please get a few pairs of eyes to double check my work that would be much appreciated.

If anyone wants I'd be happy to send a PDF of the final layout once I get everything final.

Thanks!

Overview looks good. Need to print & check against original.
Nice drawing too.

Thanks!

I just realized I accidentally labeled the coupling caps on the 6L6's as .5uf instead of .05uf. The error has been corrected. No wonder it was so hard to find that value!

And here's my idea for the cabinet. Still keeping with traditional wide panel stylings. But I like the look of cane grill cloth with tweed (blends in nice) and I like having controls on the front incase I want to stack stuff on top of my amp.

I haven't built it yet. This is just a quick photoshop mockup. Wha'dya think?

An 8.5 x 2.5 x 19.5 chassis out of an old Wurlitzer organ. It used to house the tone generator. I was full of .022fu Sprague bumblebee caps and big transistors. It's nice and big. Lots of room for a big amp.

Looks great however you might run into a bit of a problem with the depth of
the chassis and the speaker baffle fitting into the top panel. As an alternative
you could stick the controls at the back of the amp so you keep the integrity
of the Tweed front, I think the narrow panel tweeds were a more elegant
look, this is my Bassman.

Its deffinately something to think about. But I really would like to have my controls on the front. I think I'll need to do some creative bracing on the inside in order to mount the baffle.
