Hi all, Just finished my first build. Will check it over again in the morning before firing (hopefully no pun) it up. I did take a hard look and I honestly can't see any errors assuming you've checked all the flying leads below board.

Looks good from a quick scan. Might want to shorten that loopy NFB wire though.

I will probably shorten the NFB wire. I left it long because I was considering swapping it for a different white wire that was shorter than I had liked to make it look neat (my OCD). I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for looking!

So I powered it on. Was checking voltage (120 at the wall) so voltages were a little high but all seemed fine until I checked heater voltages at the tube sockets. Had ~6.5V on the terminal strip and across the LED/R24 (3 and a bit to ground). I noticed the black lead on the terminal strip for the heater wire going to each socket was poorly soldered (didn't fill the whole void with solder). I re-soldered it. Hear is the kicker. The fuse blew when I turned it back on. I rung everything out before but I guess there is something wrong with the heater circuit? Any ideas? I have a couple of 1A fast blow but not any 1A slow blow.

You saying the fuse blew when you had a fast blo in?

You need a slo-blo. The fuse will always blow if you use a fast type fuse.

no, the slow blow fuse blew. Now I only have fast blow fuses remaining. I checked Canadian Tire and they didn't have any 1 A slow blow. The Source only has the smaller ones (5mm/20mm) on their website. Not aware of any electronics stores around Ajax. I think it will have to wait until Monday maybe.

Closest I can think of is Creatron Electronics at Victoria Park and Sheppard. Think they are closed Sunday though.

Lovely looking build mgp. The great thing about the Head version is the smorgasbord of cabs/speakers, available, so many choices that can give the amp a whole new voice. What cab/speaker will you run her through?
