Hello,
I built my sIII. I want to get more modern tones like, say Deaf Tones, Metallica, Creed, etc. out of this mean machine. How can I get them?

For heavier, more aggressive tones like those of Metallica or Deftones, you'll want a guitar with higher-output pickups. Humbuckers are your best bet here since they provide more power and a thicker tone compared to single coils planet clicker

i don’t think the 18watt is the right amp to achieve those types of tones. That type of tone is achieved with 4 preamp gain stages + CF before the PI. With your sIII you have a single gain stage on the traditional channel and 2gain stages + CF on the TMB channel. There is a reason why Mike Soldano went with 4 gain stages in his SLO. Up until that point heavy tones were to be had by putting a pedal in front of a JCM 800. So what you had was a gain stage in front followed by warm bias then cold clipper then warm bias again. Soldano got rid of the pedal, added a gain stage and moved the cold clipper to the third stage. Other amp companies followed suite .. in fact directly ripped off his circuit. You will need that type of amp.
